Pat Benatar launched her career with 1979's "Heartbreaker," but it was the 1980 classic "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" that turned her into an arena-rock headliner. Released on her multi-platinum, Grammy-winning sophomore album, Crimes Of Passion, "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" peaked at Number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Number 1 on the American rock charts. It's a love song with a twist, with Benatar advising her would-be lover — a "tough cookie with a long history of breaking little hearts" — that he has finally met his match. Punctuated by power chords (played by guitarist Neil Giraldo, who married Benatar two years after the songs release), a breakdown during the song's final minute, and Benatar's sneering delivery, "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" a hard-rock knockout, immortalized not only as a staple of classic rock radio, but also as a sports anthem frequently broadcast at baseball games and soccer matches.

Great dynamics and percussion track. Transitions to/from verse, refrain, & verse are very spot-on to the original and helpful. -
