Expanding his sonic palette to sprinkle in flecks of golden soul and smartly modern R&B, album track "Soul" tips its hat to a retro, groove-laden sound for an old-fashioned love song with country music at its core. "You've got that heart made of gold, baby / I'm gonna love you till I'm old, baby / I just wanna be your baby / I like your soul (I like your soul) / I like your soul (I like your soul) / Just so you know (Just so you know) / I like your soul, baby," he intones in the chorus. The album arrived during a landmark 2020 for Lee Brice, who won Musical Event of the Year at the CMA Awards, as well as scooping two nominations; Single of the Year for "Rumor" at the ACM Awards and Video of the Year at the CMA Awards.
