"Omerta" is a track from American heavy metal band Lamb of God's fourth studio album, Ashes of the Wake, released in 2004. The song was penned by band members Chris Adler, David Randall Blythe, John Campbell, Mark Morton, and Will Adler and co-produced between Lamb of God and Gene "Machine" Freeman. Deeply entwined with mafia lore, "Omerta" indulges lead singer Randy Blythe's obsession with the Sicilian mob, drawing inspiration from the mafia's unspoken code of silence and resilience. The lyrical profundity of "Omerta" goes further as it seamlessly integrates the biblical tale of Judas Iscariot's betrayal of Jesus Christ. Clocking in at 4' 45'', "Omerta" begins with a spoken word passage that quickly gives way to the band's hyper-aggressive yet clinical sound, driven forward by palm-muted, heavily distorted guitars, airtight drumming, and screamed vocals. Even though the track didn't enter any official charts, Ashes of the Wake, its parent album, enjoyed considerable success, peaking at Number 27 on the Billboard 200 and Number 126 on the UK Albums Chart. It was also certified Gold in the United States, signifying more than half a million copies sold.
