Following the release of their 2019 Dann Huff-produced album Ocean – which went to Number two on the US Top Country Albums chart – Lady A (formerly known as Lady Antebellum) enlisted the production prowess of Dann Huff once again for their ninth studio album What A Song Can Do, which was released in October 2021 via Big Machine Records. Stirring up a mixture of rollicking contemporary country with flashes of harder country-rock, the double album was co-written by Thomas Rhett, Ryan Hurd and Natalie Hemby with "Friends Don't Let Friends" boasting guest vocals from Carly Pearce, Thomas Rhett, and Darius Rucker. The fourth track on the album, "Fire" takes a backseat drive through gently rolling country hills, with Hillary Scott's distinctive vocals cushioned by the alt-rock and banjo-streaked backdrop and backing vocals provided by Charles Kelley (lead and background vocals, guitar), and Dave Haywood (background vocals, guitar, piano, mandolin).
