Very much in line with the rest of the album, "Narcissistic Cannibal" was an effort to keep up with the then-current musical trends, incorporating elements from dubstep into Korn's harsh, ominous sound. Its lyrics, written by lead singer Jonathan Davis, address the self-destructive tendencies in people with narcissistic personality disorder. The song was officially released on October 21, 2011, serving as the album's second single. It reached number 15 on the US Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart and performed even better in the United Kingdom, where it entered the Top 5 of the UK Rock & Metal chart.
