"Somewhere Only We Know" is a song by English alternative rock band Keane. Released as the first single from the group's debut album Hopes and Fears (2004), "Somewhere Only We Know" quickly gained popularity and reached Number 3 on the UK Singles Chart in its first week of sales. Band member Tim Rice-Oxley stated that the song's composition was inspired by David Bowie's "Heroes." It was then worked on by the rest of the band along with co-producers Andy Green and James Sanger, turning it into a lush, piano-driven pop-rock ballad. "Somewhere Only We Know" was written by Keane members Tim Rice-Oxley, Tom Chaplin, and Richard Hughes. The song's lyrics evoke a sense of nostalgia and longing for simpler times, lamenting the passage of time and the advent of old age. The song was a global success, peaking at Number 3 on the Official UK Singles Chart as well as Number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song also earned a range of certifications, including double Platinum in the United Kingdom and the United States. "Somewhere Only We Know" experienced a resurgence in 2013 when it was covered by Lily Allen for a John Lewis Christmas advert, subsequently topping the charts in the UK.

New to this site, really impressed. This version is excellent, obviously not exact to the original but absolutely brilliant in terms of quality and detail. I've checked out some others too and have no doubt they are all very good!
