"Rainbow" is a song recorded by country artist Kacey Musgraves. It was the fifth single from 2018's Golden Hour, which won the Grammy for Album of the Year. The beautiful piano ballad is an especially significant song to Musgraves who originally started the song as an encouraging note to herself. "Rainbow" was the last song her grandmother ever heard that she wrote and the singer performed it at her funeral. Musgraves hopes "Rainbow" can serve as an anthem for those who are struggling, particularly in the LGBTQ community. The recording process for this song was somewhat unusual. At the end of each day of recording other songs for the album, they'd turn the lights down low and record a version of "Rainbow."
