Journey bagged their first Top 40 US hit with this tactile, slow-burning blues-rock ballad from 1979, "Lovin,' Touchin', Squeezin','" in which vocalist Steve Perry does his best Marvin Gaye impression to serve up a little sexual healing. "You make me weep, and wanna die / Just when you said we'd try. Loving, touching, squeezing each other / When I'm alone all by myself / You're out with someone else / Loving, touching, squeezing each other." The California rock hitmakers went on to release their signature hit three years later, "Don't Stop Believin','" which channeled a brawnier sound than the sensuality of "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'" and which was given a whole new lease of life in 2010 via a cover version by the cast of the hit American comedy-drama Glee. In 2015, Nicki Minaj and Trey Songz gave the track a contemporary update with their version of the track, which was featured on Trey Songz's album Trigga Reloaded.
