"Are You Ready" is a song by Grand Funk Railroad from their debut album On Time. The band’s name is a takeoff of the Grand Trunk Western Railroad, a train line that ran through their hometown of Flint, Michigan. Grand Funk Railroad became a very successful arena rock act in the 70s and scored several radio hits including "I’m Your Captain (Closer to Home)", "Bad Time", and the #1 "We’re an American Band". "Are You Ready" perfectly showcases the talent of the young trio which consisted of Mark Farner, Don Brewster, and Mel Schacher.
