It was officially released on February 7, 2022, as the fourth single from her studio debut, Goldmine. Written by Gabby Barrett with Jon Nite and producer Ross Copperman, "Pick Me Up" is a laid-back country song about forgetting one's day-to-day troubles by hitting the road with a romantic partner while listening to country music on the radio. The track was one of the four new songs included on the extended edition of her first album. Shortly after being released as a commercial single, "Pick Me Up" reached Number 69 and Number 15 on both the US Country Airplay and US Hot Country Songs charts. An accompanying promotional video directed by Alexa Campbell premiered on May 5, 2022, and featured Gabby Barrett and her husband, musician Cade Foehner.
