"Return to Sender" is a song recorded by Elvis Presley and released on October 2, 1962. Penned by Winfield Scott and Otis Blackwell, the track was specifically written for the Elvis-starring film, Girls! Girls! Girls! After a few failed attempts at coming up with a decent song for the film's soundtrack, the duo got some inspiration from a returned piece of mail to tell a heartbreaking tale of unrequited love. Musically speaking, "Return to Sender" is characteristic of the early 1960s pop style, combining rhythmic elements of rock and roll with pop sensibilities, catchy hooks, and The King of Rock and Roll's unique vocal style. Shortly after its commercial release, "Return to Sender" became a smash hit, reaching Number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Number 1 on the Cashbox charts, also peaking at Number in the United Kingdom. Additionally, the song was certified Platinum by the RIAA in the United States for sales of over 1 million copies.

0628 10 years agoHi Ron here.. Can I get Return to sender in the key of C... ThanksKaraoke Version 10 years agoHi Ron! Changing the pitch reduces the quality of the audio files that's why the change is limited (-2 to +2 semitones). Yet, you can download a free audio software (Audacity for instance) to modify the key beyond this limit.
