Dua Lipa turns on the dimmer switch and opts for mood-lighting on her blistering 2021 single "Can They Hear Us," a collaboration with electronic producer Dillon Francis made especially for the soundtrack to Gully, the feature film debut from music video director Nabil Elderkin (Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, Arctic Monkeys) who had worked with the English singer and songwriter previously on the video for her 2020 track "Don't Start Now." The film's accompanying soundtrack also features 21 Savage, ScHoolboy Q, Ty Dolla $ign, Miguel and more, with pop superstar Dua Lipa offering up a luscious slice of atmospheric pop that opens with ethereal and contemplative lyrics: "Every breath that I'm takin', every step that I'm makin' / Ain't no way I can run without you / Every ghost in my past life held my hand when I crashed down / Carries me when I wanna break through."
