From its fantastical cover art depicting a giant burning claw emerging from a deep blue body of water, Dokken's menacing 1984 album Tooth and Nail marked a career-defining album for the glam metallers, having spawned hit songs "Just Got Lucky," "Alone Again," and "Into the Fire," as well as charting on the US Billboard Hot 100. Dokken – originally comprising Don Dokken on vocals, George Lynch on lead guitar, Mick Brown on drums and Jeff Pilson (who replaced Juan Croucier in 1983) – formed in LA in 1978 and after kicking their career into gear with their debut album Breaking the Chains in 1981, gathered more steam with the release of their second studio album Tooth and Nail. "Just Got Lucky" is the fiery third track on the LP, and a song the band nearly risked life and limb to capture on video when they accidentally decided to film George Lynch’s guitar solo on top of an active volcano.
