Delbert McClinton may have earned his keep primarily as a songwriter, having written Emmylou Harris’s “Two More Bottles of Wine" among other tunes, but one of his trademark hits was in fact written by Nashville's Troy Seals and Max D. Barnes. The Grammy winner and harp-player recorded "Everytime I Roll The Dice" for his 1992 album Never Been Rocked Enough, which reached Number 118 on the Billboard 200 on July 18, 1992 and featured contributions from stars including Bonnie Raitt, Tom Petty and Melissa Etheridge. On his bluesy honky-tonk barnstormer, Delbert McClinton jumps on board the rollercoaster of love (which ultimately proves to be a safe stop): "She's got a roof that don't leak / When the rain's pouring down / She's got a place I can sleep y'all / Where I'm safe and sound / She's got a lock on her door / But she gave me a key / She don't walk the floor / Oh, but she worries about me."
