Australian singer-songwriter stepped out with his debut EP, Same Kind of Different, in 2017 and won over fans for his earnest, melody-rich pop that struck a universal chord. He had previously scored a Top 20 hit in Australia with "Waves" (2016) and in 2018 shot to fame with his debut album, A Place We Knew and Number 1 hit "Be Alright," which was nominated for an impressive four awards at the ARIA Music Awards of 2018. The single sparked a string of other successful tracks and 2021 saw the release of "Falling Up," a tender pop song about positivity and the human condition: "'Cause I'm feeling down, but I'm falling up / And I'm breaking out, but not out of luck / As I breathe the air into my lungs / I wanted everything, but nothing's ever good enough," sings Dean Lewis in the chorus. "Falling Up" reached the Top 50 on Australia's ARIA Charts and is the lead single from the artist's second, as-yet-untitled studio album.
