Bryan Adams poured his heart and soul into this loved-up power ballad that became one of his best-known tunes. "Look into my eyes / You will see / What you mean to me / Search your heart / Search your soul / And when you find me there / You'll search no more," he sings in the opening verse over a modest backdrop, before his voice and the searing bridge explode with guitars and pure emotion "There's no love / Like your love / And no other/ Could give more love / There's nowhere / Unless you're there / All the time / All the way, yeah." The song was written with composer Michael Kamen – who penned the score for 1991 movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves of which "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" was the theme – and producer Robert 'Mutt' Lange, with the latter also producing the record. Bryan Adams scored a record-breaking hit with the track going to Number 1 in the UK Singles Chart where it hang around for sixteen consecutive weeks, which in 2021 was still the longest uninterrupted run ever on that chart as of 2021.
