You Got Away With It - Brett Young - MP3 instrumental karaoke

Brett Young was at a songwriting retreat in Florida when he and some fellow songwriters started talking about how great the song "I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe is. The writers took a break and Young started strumming the chords to the song, which had been a huge Christian crossover hit 1999. When the guys walked back in, one of them suggested they write a song using some of the chords he was playing. Using those chords as a jumping off point, the song they came up with is "You Got Away With It." The two songs couldn't be more different, with the lyrics for "I Can Only Imagine" being about meeting Jesus in heaven and Young's song being about meeting a hot girl in a bar. But Young and his co-writers came up with a great song that is a fan favorite from his Weekends Look a Little Different These Days album.
