Bastille's lead vocalist Dan Smith wrote "No Bad Days" as a tribute to his aunt who died in 2019 and, with that in mind, the song carries a melancholy quality. However, with Ryan Tedder (Adele, Taylor Swift) at the production desk, the song becomes a slice of bold, life-affirming pop. "So your future's lost / But they can't take your past / And you said no tears ‘round here anymore", sings Dan Smith, while bursts of sparky electronic pop illuminate his voice. "No Bad Days" was featured on the pop-rock superstars' fourth studio album, Give Me the Future, with "No Bad Days" working as the fourth single following "Distorted Light Beam", "Give Me the Future," and "Thelma + Louise". The album, which tackles tech-led themes like the phenomenon of deep fakes, also includes a spoken-word interlude from UK actor and rapper Riz Ahmed ("Promises") as well as a duo of tracks co-written with Ryan Tedder and Rami Yaco.
