"One Night Standards" is a song from country artist Ashley McBryde. The Arkansas native and fellow songwriter Nicolette Hayford started writing about a one-night stand from a woman's point of view. They had "It ain't somethin' I wanna spend a lot of time in / I ain't gonna stay for the weekend." but they didn't know where to take it from there. The next time they got together to write they invited Shane McAnally who mentioned that motels are sometimes called one-night standers. They changed that to "One Night Standards" to reflect the rules or standards contained in the lyrics. "I don't want a number, you ain't gonna answer /  Let's just stick to the one night standards."
