"Oh My God" is the second single from Adele's fourth album, 30. The songs from the album chronicle the singer's painful divorce from Simon Konecki. While many of the compositions reflect feelings of sadness and regret, Adele says "Oh My God" is a song about finding her way as a newly single woman. The English superstar was ready to have fun but the thought of dating was terrifying. The song blends that giddy feeling of possibilities with the fear of losing control. "Maybe Baby, I'm just losing my mind 'cause this is trouble, but it feels right / Teetering on the edge of heaven and hell is a battle I cannot fight." In July of 2021, Adele started dating sports agent Rich Paul, telling Oprah Winfrey it's the first time she's "loved myself and been open to loving and being loved by someone else."
