Formed in 2003 by guitarist Tom Denney and drummer Bobby Scruggs, A Day to Remember perfected their fiery brand of hardcore and metalcore-flecked pop-punk across seven killer albums, from 2005 debut And Their Name Was Treason and fourth album What Separates Me from You to 2021's You're Welcome. In 2010, they opened their trove of unreleased cuts to carve out a garish-looking EP called Attack of the Killer B-Sides, which takes its visual cues from B-movies and comic books. "Over My Head (Cable Car)" is among the B-sides collected on the EP, and shows the Florida rockers doing what they do best: soaring, arena-sized choruses, explosive guitars and a sprinkling of screamo for their hardcore-loving fanbase. Built from a jigsaw of alternative rock styles, including candied pop-punk and red raw metalcore, "Over My Head (Cable Car)" uses the metaphor of a cable car to depict a communication breakdown in a relationship.
