Our end of the year holiday song selection

For many, music plays a big part in the magic of the holidays. It rings in festivities, spreads a little cheer and warms up any frosty weather (how could you not associate Christmas with classics from Bing Crosby, Andy Williams and more recent artists Mariah Carey and Michael Bublé?). And lucky us as music lovers, each year Christmas coincides with album releases trimmed as perfectly as the Rockefeller Christmas Tree.

Carols have always had a special place throughout the holiday season (especially the religious ones).

A celebration of Sinatra

Frank Sinatra, not just a revered pop music icon situated at the summit of music hierarchy, is above all a long list figures that’s bound to give you vertigo: 150 million albums sold, 55 year-long career, 57 films, 78 singles on American Billboard’s Top 50 and a repertoire of nearly 1,800 songs. This month, a new number is added to this list: 100. The artist would have turned 100 on December 15th.

Forge your own way! Making your mark in music

What makes an artist successful, beyond of course their ability to sing on key or play the right note, is the manner in which they interpret a song. This is where the personal touch comes in, the part that allows singers to really "tell a story" and own it. And it isn't because a musician reinterprets a song, that prevents them from infusing their own interpretation.

Find your voice type

Mariah Carey wouldn't sing Janis Joplin any more than Axl Rose (Guns N' Roses) would sing Frank Sinatra, it just doesn't happen. Why? Because these artists understand their voice type. Knowing your voice type is essential! Understanding your vocal capabilities allows you to put your best foot forward and shine when your moment comes.
