"My name is Mud / Not to be confused with Billy, Jack, Pete or Dennis / My name is mud, it's always been," states the narrator in the opening verse of "My Name Is Mud," a wayward funk metal shredder which sees Primus feed all the weird and wonderful ingredients of their signature stew through an industrial food blender with far-out results. A hard-hitting, wobbly bassline from the inimitable Les Claypool, meth addicts, and dark lyrics about ending a man's life with a baseball bat ("We had our words / A common spat / So I kissed him upside the cranium with an aluminum baseball bat / My name is Mud") are all bundled together to create this sonic oddball, one of the many tracks that light up the funk metal mavericks' 1993 outsider opus Pork Soda, which was certified platinum in May 1997 and re-issued in 2005. In 2010, a Spanish-language version of "My Name is Mud" emerged under the new title of "Me Llamo Mud."
