Willie Nelson teamed up with his good pal, the "Dang Me" hit-maker and honky-tonk hero Roger Miller, for this wistful paean to long-term friendship and country music. "Old Friend" was recorded for Willie Nelson's duet album of the same name in 1982, adding to a plethora of joint releases that included Funny How Time Slips Away with Faron Young, Six Hours At Pedernales with Curtis Potter and Pancho & Lefty with Merle Haggard.
