"Judgement Day" is a song from Whitesnake's 1989 album Slip of the Tongue. It was recorded during an unsettled time for the band. Lead singer David Coverdale had fired much of the band who had worked on the previous album and had hired new musicians. One of the new guitarists, Vivian Patrick Campbell, quit after Coverdale forbid his wife on tour because she didn't get along with his wife, Tawny Kitaen. The other guitarist, Adrian Vandenberg, needed surgery for an injury that made it impossible for him to play on the album, so Steve Vai was brought in. Vai, who made a name for himself as a sideman for Frank Zappa and David Lee Roth, gave songs like "Judgement Day" a heavier sound than Coverdale was used to. The singer said that he felt that album lacked a certain Whitesnake feel but after hearing from so many people how much they loved it, he now enjoys it more than he did back then.
The backing track for "Judgement Day" is available with background vocals and as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
