"Bananas and Blow" finds genre-mashers Ween at their kookiest as they deal out a mixed bag of stylistic motifs, from flamenco guitar to Caribbean-flavoured steelpans, all in the name of an alleged Jimmy Buffet parody. The result is a lilting tongue-in-cheek satire ("Now I'm locked inside a stall in the cantina / Eating the bananas and the cocaine off the mirror / Looking for a ticket to take me away from here") that's as refreshing as a watermelon cooler on a sweltering hot day. "Bananas and Blow" was the fourth track on Ween's underrated 2000 album White Pepper, the group's seventh LP and their last for Elektra Records. The beloved alternative rock oddballs took album track "Exactly Where I'm At" to the small screen, performing it on the Late Show with David Letterman while "Even If You Don't" was immortalised on film in a video directed by South Park creators and Ween pals Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
