Long before he was giving the Joker a new lease of life in Todd Phillips' 2019 thriller, Joaquin Phoenix was playing Johnny Cash in Walk the Line. The 2005 biographical drama film, which was based on two autobiographies, Johnny Cash: Man in Black: His Own Story in His Own Words (1975) and Cash: The Autobiography (1997), saw Joaquin Phoenix take on the starring role to perform a slew of the country great's best-loved hits. This duet, performed in the film with Reese Witherspoon (who plays June Carter, the wife of Johnny Cash), is actually a Bob Dylan classic that appeared on his fourth album but was picked up as a duet by Johnny Cash and June Carter for the former's 1965 album, Orange Blossom Special. The Walk the Line: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack album was released by Wind-Up Records in 2005 and in 2007, won a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Pictures, Television or Other Visual Media.
