On “A Warrior's Call,” Volbeat's heavy-hitting tribute to former professional boxer Mikkel Kessler who also lends his voice to the track (with his "fight" chants adding a hard edge), the Danish rockers launch straight into a deafening percussive assault that doesn't let up. Typifying the band's unholy cocktail of punk, rock and metal, "A Warrior's Call" opens with a fierce call-to-action ("Let's get ready to rumble") and showcases Michael Poulsen's impenetrable voice which leaps up and down the octaves like he's actually on fire. The track is featured on the band's fourth album Beyond Hell/Above Heaven (2010), which was Volbeat's first LP to make it onto the Billboard 200 chart in the US, where it debuted at number 142, and was later certified Gold by the RIAA on 22nd March 2016. The album's title makes a reference to its theme and picks up where 2008 Danish chart-topper Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood left off.
