Directed by Bryan Schlam, the story for the video was created by Kentucky author Silas House and his husband, the journalist/author Jason Kyle Howard. It stars actors Colton Haynes and James Scully. The song, which was written with Geno Seale, served as a fittingly impactful introduction to Tyler Childers' sixth album Rustin' in the Rain, which was released in 2023 and produced by Tyler Childers and his backing band the Food Stamps.
