"Lawdy Miss Clawdy" is an early R&B song written and recorded by Lloyd Price in 1952. The song spent seven weeks at #1 on the R&B chart and became the year's top R&B hit. Memphis-raised Elvis Presley was heavily influenced by the black music played by DJs on local R&B stations. He recorded "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" four years later. Fast-forward to 1994, country artist Travis Tritt recorded a version of it for It's Now or Never: The Tribute to Elvis. This backing track is for that version. It's a soulful southern stomp complete with guitar and piano solos. Covering "The King" isn't anything new for Tritt. He included Presley hits "T.R.O.U.B.L.E" and "Burning Love" on earlier albums.
