You'd be hard-pressed to find a supergroup as emblematic as the Traveling Wilburys, a band comprised of some of the most legendary figures in the world of rock and roll. Formed by George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, and Roy Orbison, the British-American ensemble made its official debut with the album Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 in 1988, which won Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal at the 1990 Grammy Awards. Mainly written by George Harrison but credited to the rest of the band, "End of the Line" was released as the album's second single on January 23, 1989, following Roy Orbison's death in late 1988. Shortly after its commercial release, "End of the Line" reached Number 63 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Number 2 on the Album Rock Tracks chart. The song features vocals by all the members of the group except for Bob Dylan. In the following years, "End of the Line" was used over the end credits of both the British sitcom One Foot in the Grave and the American comedy Parks and Recreation.
