After effecting what is described as "one of the greatest comebacks in music history" during the '80s, the "Queen of rock 'n' roll" saw her hit-studded career out with an epic bang on her tenth and final solo studio album, Twenty Four Seven. Released in October 1999, the LP – which was produced by the team behind Cher's iconic Believe album –captures Tina Turner in all her roof-shaking rock and soul glory before she eventually retired from the recording studio from good. "Hold on I'm Coming" was written by Isaac Hayes and David Porter and first recorded by soul duo Sam & Dave in 1966 for the mighty Stax label. Tina Turner stepped into Aretha Franklin's shoes (who had covered the song on her 1981 album Love All the Hurt Away and picked up a Grammy for her trouble) and knocked it out of the park. This live version of the track was featured on the expanded version of Twenty Four Seven, which was packed with live recordings from Tina Turner's 60th birthday bash in London in November 1999.
