Although not as well-known as Weird Al Yankovic, American standup comedian and recording artist Tim Wilson has been making parody his bread and butter since his debut in the early 1990s, combining country-styled novelty songs with a dash of Southern-slanted humor. After delivering a series of albums for the Southern Tracks label, some of which featured backing instrumentation by the Atlanta Rhythm Section and the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, Tim Wilson was signed by Capitol Nashville and scored his first charting entry with 1999's It's a Sorry World. Since then, he became a staple of the country charts in the US with titles like Hillbilly Homeboy (2000), I Should've Married My Father-In-Law (2001), and Super Bad Sounds of the 70s (2003). The latter merged Tim Wilson's love of soul music with his redneck-themed brand of comedy and included the single "Booty Man,"a sleazy funk instrumental inspired by the golden age of musical variety show Soul Train.
