"Always the Sun" is a song by the British punk/new wave band The Stranglers. The song's verses tell of a dark and unpredictable reality but the chorus repeats "there's always the sun" in a wistful yet hopeful refrain. While The Stranglers were one of the most successful bands to come out of the UK punk scene, "Always the Sun" wasn't as popular as both the band and the record label felt it should have been. After lead vocalist Hugh Cornwell left to pursue a solo career, the band even released a remix of the song but it failed to perform as hoped.
