Powered by The SteelDrivers' trademark dose of rock 'n' roll energy, you can't get much more bluegrass than "Ghosts of Mississippi"; the song distils the essence of the Appalachian genre into a six-minute homage to the blues legends of America's South. "Ghosts of Mississippi" was featured on The SteelDrivers’ second album Reckless, which marked their last effort with lead singer Chris Stapleton, who went on to forge a highly successful career as a solo artist starting with the critically acclaimed, Grammy-nominated 2015 debut Traveller. Reckless was the follow-up to The SteelDrivers' talked-about self-titled debut (2008) for Rounder Records and created under the watchful eye of producer Luke Wooten (Alison Krauss, Jim Lauderdale and Dierks Bentley), with banjo from Richard Bailey, bass and vocals from Mike Fleming, fiddle, viola and vocals from Tammy Rogers and mandolin, resonator guitar, and harmonica from Mike Henderson.
