"Sadie" is a song recorded by the R&B group The Spinners. The vocal group had many hits in the 70s including "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love", "I'll Be Around", and "One of a Kind (Love Affair)". Although "Sadie" wasn't a big hit for the group when it came out, it has grown in popularity through the years. The song is a beautiful tribute to a mother named Sadie. It starts with a recitation by vocalist Philippé Wynne. "In a world like today / It's a rare occasion to be able to see young mothers like the ones that were around when I grew up / But they live on in memory to quite a few of us." The touching lyrics, sung from the perspective of an adult son, tell of his late mother who was such a positive force in his life. The backing track for "Sadie" is available with background vocals or as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
