Specialising in the neotraditionalist side of modern country, Canadian brother-sister county duo The Reklaws became an overnight sensation in 2018 when their breakout single, "Feels Like That" reached the summit of Canada's country chart. A Juno nomination for follow-up EP Feels Like That further cemented their status as fine purveyors of prize-winning homegrown country. "Honky Tonkin' About" arrived following a cache of platinum-selling singles like 2020's "Where I'm From" and 2022's "Good Ol' Days," channelling much of the same throwback-meets-glossy country-pop energy of the latter. Released as a single in 2023 with Sun Records' star Drake Milligan invited along for the ride, the result is a pure party jam of the honky tonk variety, one located in a country & western bar where the beer is free flowing.
