Vocal group and perennial hitmakers The Manhattans first formed in the early '60s and went on to score 45 hits on the Billboard R&B Chart, including twelve Top 10 R&B hits in the US. Grabbing the Number 66 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 at the time of its release, "It Feels So Good to Be Loved So Bad" is featured on the group's eighth studio album, It Feels So Good, also released in 1977 through Columbia Records, and certified Gold by the R.I.A.A.
