One of the biggest and most anticipated collaborations of 2017, "Something Just Like This" is a single by American electronic music duo The Chainsmokers and English rock band Coldplay. Written by Andrew Taggart, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion, and Chris Martin, the track was released simultaneously as the second single from The Chainsmokers' studio debut Memories...Do Not Open and the lead single from Coldplay's thirteenth EP Kaleidoscope. An EDM-infused pop song about setting realistic expectations in a relationship, "Something Just Like This" was teased via social media in late 2016 and finally came out on February 22, 2017, coinciding with the band's surprise performance at the Brit Awards.
