"Wait" is a song released by the Beatles from their 1965 album Rubber Soul. It was written while they were filming Help! in the Bahamas with the intention of it being on the soundtrack album. Although it's credited as a Lennon/McCartney composition, Paul remembers writing it alone while being watched by one of the young actors on set. The song didn't make the cut for the soundtrack but made its way onto Rubber Soul. "Wait" is one of the few Beatles songs where both Paul and John alternate singing lead. It is thought to be about Paul's relationship with actress Jane Asher. The two were together for five years. Their relationship inspired several other songs including "And I Love Her" and "We Can Work it Out." The two were unable to work it out after Asher came home early from a trip and found him in bed with a fan. He obviously didn't wait.
