The Beatles turned to the legendary Ray Charles for this riotous cover of the star's 1954 single I Got a Woman,” originally released with Come Back Baby on the B-side and showing up on Ray Charles's 1957 self-titled album (later retitled as Hallelujah I Love Her So). The Beatles captured two iterations of "I Got a Woman" for BBC radio, first, the one that can be heard here, which was recorded on 16 July 1963 at the BBC Paris Theatre in London for the Pop Go The Beatles radio show (with the track then included on the 1994 Live at the BBC compilation). The second version was recorded the following year at the Playhouse Theatre in London for the Saturday Club radio show, and was featured on the 2013 On Air – Live at the BBC Volume 2 compilation. In 1990, Ray Charles's definitive 1954 incarnation of "I Got a Woman"—which took its blueprint from a gospel song called "My Jesus Is All the World to Me"—was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
