"Four Chord" is a song by the musical comedy act The Axis of Awesome. The Australian trio, consisting of Jordan Raskopoulos, Lee Naimo, and Benny Davis, formed in 2006. The group's name is a play on the phrase "axis of evil" used by President George W. Bush. Their big break happened when the trio combined 36 songs that all contained the basic chord structure into an awesomely funny song titled "Four Chord." The song was a big hit at comedy festivals and soon BBC Radio 1 started playing it. Four Chord became a viral YouTube hit, racking up millions of views. Some of the songs used in the medley are "Don't Stop Believing," "Take Me Home Country Roads," "Let it Be," and "Auld Lang Syne." In their live performances, the group would often add newer songs to the medley. Although the bit could go on and on, sadly the group called it quits in 2018.
The backing track for "Four Chord" is available as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
