Sturgill Simpson’s “I Don’t Mind” is a song from Cuttin' Grass - Vol. 1 (Butcher Shoppe Sessions). The eclectic, genre-bending artist has called the album “a mixtape for the fans.” The Kentucky native was at home recovering from Coronavirus and started thinking about how every song he’s written has been just him and a guitar, working out the song in a bare-bones way that was closer to Bluegrass than any other style. With that in mind, Simpson reworked songs from his catalog with the help of several of today’s top Bluegrass players including Stuart Duncan (fiddle), Scott Vestal (banjo), Sierra Hull (mandolin), and Tim O’Brien (guitar).
