Rising to prominence in the '90s and maintaining a steady yet niche fanbase over the next few decades, the flame of reggae-rock has been kept alive by a dedicated cadre of artists, with Stick Figure flying the flag for this cross-cultural marriage across seven full-length albums and one instrumental LP. Helmed by industrious one-man-band Scott Woodruff, the Southern Californian reggae and dub troupe dropped into 2019 and with their seventh album, World on Fire, and snagged the Number 1 selling reggae album of 2019 (Billboard). "Angels Above Me" is a saintly portrait of nature, ("Run, run, river, carry me home to the ocean / The river and the road, take me home to the ocean") and romance ("I've been playing my guitar, laying underneath the stars for you / In the light of the moon, I'll be forever singing tunes for you"). A selection of tracks from World on Fire were given a dubwise refit in 2021 by the legendary Prince Fatty for remix album Fire & Stone.
