The rockabilly love song "Hello Mary Lou" was written by American singer-songwriter Gene Pitney in the late 1950s. Since he already had a single out at the moment, his record company decided not to release it. Instead, Gene Pitney's publisher offered the song to other artists and the first recorded version by Johnny Duncan appeared in 1960. A year later, teenage heartthrob Ricky Nelson turned the track into a huge international hit, reaching the Top 10 in the US, the UK, Norway, Sweden, New Zealand, and Australia. In the following years, "Hello Mary Lou" became the subject of a plagiarism lawsuit between Gene Pitney and Cayet Mangiaracina of The Sparks, who claimed the song ripped off his band's single "Mary Lou." Eventually, both parties settled and Cayet Mangiaracina was listed as a co-writer. In 1991, "Hello Mary Lou" entered the UK charts for a second time after being featured in a TV commercial.

Pretty close to the original. The break could have been slightly better but all in all this is a good version.
