British pop dynamo Raye has been on an upward trajectory since signing to Polydor at 17 and launching herself onto the scene in 2014 with her breakthrough debut EP Welcome to the Winter. 2022 was a killer year for the south London singer-songwriter who was nominated for the Songwriter of the Year Ivor Novello Award and scored her first UK number one in the 070 Shake-featuring “Escapism,” which was also her first Billboard Hot 100 entry in January 2023. Sung directly from the heart, "Escapism" is a stirring meditation on heartbreak that's immersed in trip-hop and the healing and escapist qualities of music.
