"I Can See Clearly Now" is a song written and recorded by Johnny Nash in 1974. It is the first reggae song to reach the #1 position on the Billboard Top 100. The legendary Ray Charles recorded "I Can See Clearly Now" for his 1977 album True To Life. The album contained several cover songs including the Beatles' "Let it Be" and "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'" by Rogers and Hammerstein, and was produced by the artist. His arrangment of "I Can See Clearly Now" is pure Ray. It includes the call and response Raelettes style vocals, a horn section, and guitar solo. In his 50 plus year career, he recorded jazz, R&B, show tunes, blues, pop, gospel, and country. He made every genre his own. While often referred to as "The Genius," he preferred to be known as "Brother Ray."
The backing track for "I Can See Clearly Now" is available with background vocals or as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
