US hair metal hellraisers Ratt crawled out of the underbelly of '80s rock to birth this nocturnal antidote to sentimental love songs in 1985. "You take the midnight subway train / You're callin' all the shots / You're struck by lightning / You're in love," they begin, adding; "You take the evening one on one / You're only livin' to have fun / You want to use me, take me home tonight / I'll make you wish that you were mine". A total power trip of hard rock built around grisly vocals and a white-hot guitar solo, "You're in Love" was featured on the band's third album, Invasion of Your Privacy (1985). Ratt had assembled in San Diego back in 1977, and hit their stride during glam metal's fertile period in the '80s, scoring a hit single with "Round and Round" in 1984 as well as "Lay It Down", which was also featured on Invasion of Your Privacy; widely considered to be among the best metal albums of the '80s.
