"I don't wanna be buried in a pet sematary / I don't want to live my life again", opines Joey Ramone on the Ramones' fast-paced 1989 bop "Pet Sematary", performed for Stephen King's 1989 film of the same name that revolved around an ancient burial ground and a cast of zombie pets. The seventh track on the band's eleventh studio Brain Drain – their last with Dee Dee Ramone and the first to feature Marky Ramone following his 1983 firing – "Pet Sematary" gave the punk-rock iconoclasts their highest-charting hit in the US, with the song reaching number four spot on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. They also got some love on MTV for the graveyard-set video directed by Bill Fishman, who also steered the video for Ramones' favourite "I Wanna Be Sedated". Fun facts: another Ramones song, the 1977 classic "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker", also makes an appearance in Pet Sematary. And Stephen King is a life-long fan of the band.
