Usher and R. Kelly joined forces in 2007 for the collaborative track "Same Girl," which was featured on R. Kelly's album Double Up and finds the two R&B artists vying for the same girl's affection. The song, which went to number 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100, was later given the official remix treatment by Auto-Tune pioneer T-Pain and packaged as "The Triple Up Remix." The album featured production contributions and guest appearances from the likes of Swizz Beatz, The Runners, Snoop Dogg, Khao, Nelly, Chamillionaire, and Polow da Don. The follow-up to TP.3 Reloaded, Double Up shot to the top of the US Billboard 200, giving R. Kelly his sixth and final album to debut at number one, while it reached number 10 on the UK Albums Chart. In 2022, R. Kelly was sentenced to serve 31 years imprisonment in a combination of concurrent and consecutive sentences on child pornography charges, sex trafficking and other offences.
